The problem with listing family activities in this city is where to start. Bangkok is a huge sprawling city it has excellent travel facilities (see getting around ) and endless accommodation possibilities from the very basic backpacker hostel to world class 5 star luxury hotels and Bangkok also so has a huge variety of  ‘things to do and see’ from ancient to the very modern. In several days you would not run out of sights to see and places to enjoy. This Asian capital certainly does not lack entertainment value and rewards any visitors with a trip to remember.

We have listed many but certainly not all the things you can see and do in this great Thai capital. All prices in Thai Baht.

Personal Safety. Given this is such a large and often poor city crime is surprisingly low risk, the chances of violent crime against a western family very low indeed, this is because of Thai’s respect for ‘the family’, family life even in this metropolis is the center of  Thai life and culture. You should of course not be foolhardy stick to tourist areas don’t walk down some unlit alleyway late at night, just take normal precautions. If you are lost or do not feel comfortable flag down a cab or Tuk Tuk, or police are often found in ‘boxes’ on the corner of major road junctions

It would possibly take weeks to see all the sights and attractions 'BKK'  has to offer, ancient palaces, museums, temples, modern theme parks, traditional shows and the latest in modern nightclub facilities, animal parks and floral gardens live concerts by international and Thai artists and the most interesting of all the city itself, an amazingly vibrant and exiting metropolis of well over 8 million people. Just being out on the streets in the early evening is an experience in itself, with its strange sights, sounds and smells Bagkok is truly an experience for the senses.

The phrase 'Shop till you drop' might have been invented for Bangkok because in Bangkok you will drop, Shops, malls, boutiques, markets, department stores this city has them all and in huge numbers and on a huge scale.

Bangkok has gigantic shopping malls, and lots of them. So put on your best designer hiking boots and see if you can make it around a fraction of what's on offer in this exotic Asian shopping city.

The children are not left out either with so many places to go and so many adventures to have it no wonder so many families visit to take in the planetarium , the Safari Park or take a long boat ride on the canal, if you cant tear them away from computer games they are available on every street in arcades and internet shops. And if you need a night off from the kids babysitting services from hotels are cheap and reliable with little of the worry such services bring in the west.

If you very uncomfortable or feel you are being abused in some way like being overcharged by a taxi driver call the tourist police they speak English and are extremely helpful, call 1155, put it in your phone. On the whole safety should not be a worry at all.
