Getting There
Travel is by boat from Phuket Island there are many ferry companies operating at various prices and speeds they all land at Tonsai Bay
.
Buy tickets from travel agents at least a day in advance hotel transfer is generally included the trip is around 45 min’s to an hour unless your booking includes a small tour around before landing. Day trips for sightseeing or diving are also available from agents.

From Krabi the boat takes about 90 min’s and operate twice daily, again book at least a day in advance.

hi Phi Island(s) is in the Krabi province east of Phuket, though usualy refered to as one island it is made up of two islands Phi Phi Don which is inhabited and Phi Phi Ley which has no popuation.
They are about an hour and a half by boat from the mainland 40km's from Krabi and 50kms from Phuket island. Made popular when the movie "The Beach" starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed there in 2000, since then it has seen a huge rise in tourism but it still holds a charm that is hard to escape and the atraction of the blue sky white sand desert island holds many visitors in its grasp.

Phi Phi Island

Activities  Not a huge amount of organised things to do but its just not that kind of place this is a chill out and relax destination, the activities that are available are based mostly on the sea, lots of snorkelling which here lets you see the coral and lots of exotic fish.

Nightlife  Some excellent restaurants with Thai, ,Scandanavian, Italian and other tastes obviously the emphasis is on seafood. There are pancake stalls and burger joints and all kinds of local stalls with interesting dishes. You can also dine al fresco right out on the beach.

Kayaking, and diving and there are quite a few big game fishing trips the islands have a lot of dive sights in the 15 – 30 meter range with a chance to dive the shallow King Cruiser Wreck. On Land there is Mountain Biking for about 100 a day you can see the spectacular views at your own pace.  There is also rock climbingavailable.

f you would rather watch there is Viking Cave where locals with no equipment and no safety gear climb impossible rocks to collect birds nests for the birds nest soup market. Entrance 100. There is also some trekking another great way to see the islands.

Accommodation
A very few years ago there would have been practically nothing to write here but now Phi Phi  has a large choice of accommodations to suit all tastes from basic bungalows and rooms to the very best in upscale hotels but still there are properly less than 1500 rooms total so booking in advance is pretty essential

There are quite a lot of bars and clubs several offering live entertainment including

Rolling Stoned Bar rock music bar usualy has a  live band at least during the high season and occasionaly  at other times of the year. There are also pool tables.
The Reggae bar which has 5 or 6 bars, pool tables, a dance floor and is a big Thai boxing venue.
The Beach club is a non alcoholic bar where you will find a lot of families. There are also several music venues for Jazz, Blues, and pop music as well as a couple of bars aimed at young people with all the latest sounds.
Carlitos Bar laid back drinks on the beach.
Tiger Bar  next to Rolling Stoned Bar this small bar is a favorite with the local dive community and general expats.
Apache Bar overlooking Ton Sai. is home of the weekly drag shows
Hippies Bar is a nice place at the beach with fire shows just about every night

The bigger hotels have cabaret nights; there are also ‘fire shows’ on the beach. On the whole a pretty varied nightlife for such a small place.
